On March 4th, 2024, ORT Holon School had the honor of hosting the Ambassador of Taiwan, Ms. Ya Ping Abbi Lee, and her esteemed team, marking a significant step in establishing education collaboration between Taiwan and ORT Israel Network. The visit, organized by Ms. Alona Kletsel (Allesh), Head of International Business Development at ORT Israel, was a testament to ORT’s commitment to forging global educational partnerships.
The event, hosted by Shlomi Ganon, the principal of ORT Holon, and his education team, showcased the school’s pioneering initiatives in education, particularly in the field of AI. Students from the cyber and artificial intelligence programs presented impressive projects, highlighting ORT Holon’s innovative approach to learning.
Ambassador Abbi Ya Ping Lee praised ORT Holon for its inclusive approach, noting the high representation of girls in the cyber and AI classes. She and her team were impressed by projects with startup potential, such as AI solutions for urban parking challenges and software to prevent child abuse in kindergartens which is based on AI and Machine Learning, the software is analyzing video footage and recognizes violence, it is also able to predict violence. And other interesting solutions which were developed by school students.
Also esteemed guests from the Holon municipality administration took part at the meeting: Ms. Riva Klein, the head of the education administration in Holon municipality, and Mr. Michael Meirovitch, the director of the secondary education department of Holon, further emphasizing the collaborative efforts between ORT Holon and the local education authorities.
Ms. Sonia Shammai head of software engineering program and Mr. Yaron Dori, M.Sc., the head of the AI program at ORT Holon, shared insights into the school’s leadership in cyber and AI education at a national level.
The guests and the hosts expressed enthusiasm for future collaborations.
This visit not only strengthened educational ties between Taiwan and Israel but also inspired students to continue pursuing innovation and excellence. ORT Education Network looks forward to further collaborations and exchanges that will benefit both communities and contribute to the advancement of education in both countries.
