Multiculturalism

ORT develops and implements programs which underlie the creation of a respectful multicultural discourse in Israeli society.

The ORT Israel network operates more than 250 educational institutes, schools, and colleges in over 65 local authorities, spanning from Hazor in the Galilee to Shlomi in the North, and from Arad to Abu-Basma in the South. New educational institutions from all segments of the Israeli population join the ORT network each year. Serving as a microcosm of Israeli society, the network’s mission is guided by the principle of providing equal educational opportunities to all citizens of the State of Israel, regardless of their religion, beliefs, culture, lifestyle, place of residence, or worldview. Every citizen has the right to receive equitable education simply by virtue of their citizenship.

Through the ORTOV (“Good ORT”) Department, the network actively promotes multicultural programs, with a primary focus on preserving various cultural heritages and fostering collaborative activities among different societal sectors. This approach serves as the most inclusive and respectful foundation for a diverse social dialogue, where all segments of society have a role to play in promoting unity and social cohesion within the State of Israel.
