International Activity

Collaborations with global leading educational bodies in developing innovative pedagogy.

The network’s collaborations with educational systems around the world began to take shape in 2009. International research projects have been initiated, along with development and implementation programs conducted in partnership with the European Union, international institutions, and governments worldwide.

ORT Israel Network’s Research and Development Center stands as a prominent contributor to world-class international education projects. The center’s staff provides management services, develops and implements educational programs, and conducts training for teaching and management teams from across the globe. These teams come to the Moshinsky R&D Center to participate in professional seminars tailored to the specific needs of their respective countries.

There are three key aspects to this international engagement:

  1. International collaboration with innovative educational systems and schools worldwide, organizing meetings to introduce staff to cutting-edge fields and trends.

  2. Collaboration in international research, development, and implementation projects, which serve as the foundation for creating new educational programs in Israel.

  3. Exporting education services, as well as educational and pedagogical development services developed by the network, to educational systems worldwide.

In recent years, the network has initiated and led proposals for various projects within the European Union. These initiatives include collaborations with various European bodies and unique responses to European Union requests for proposals:

  • HORIZON 2020: This program is driven by requests for proposals in various fields of concern to the European Union’s educational policy leaders. It encourages consortiums comprising industrial companies, research institutes, universities, service providers, and others to collaborate on large-scale visionary educational projects.

  • OSOS (Open Schooling for Open Society): ORT has been privileged to partner in a significant project named OSOS, aimed at making schools the focal point of communities and promoters of the expansion of scientific and technological knowledge.

  • Exporting the iSTEAM program: The web-based center for research and development leads professional training for managerial, teaching, and education teams worldwide on iSTEAM topics. The seminars and workshops introduce innovative pedagogical approaches for teaching science and technology, offer occupational training on technological issues, and teach the integration of digital tools into educational and pedagogical processes. Delegations from various countries, such as the City of Davao in the Philippines, Azerbaijan, China, and Portugal, have visited ORT Israel for these programs.

ORT Israel is also a partner and member of the European Union’s associations dedicated to promoting education. This partnership involves presenting workshops at conferences, crafting policy papers, and establishing lobby groups to advocate for technological, scientific, and professional education.

Furthermore, the ORT Network is privileged to be a partner in a leading research project on nanotechnology in collaboration with the Austrian government. This project, led by the University of Salzburg, explores materials engineering and nanotechnology’s impact on adolescents’ lives. It aims to understand various perspectives among high school students and develop communication strategies tailored to their needs. ORT’s involvement extends to numerous international nanotechnology projects.

Finally, the network collaborates with the Ofri Center and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to coordinate visits from delegations worldwide. These delegations come to Israel to explore potential strategic collaborations with the ORT network. These visits include tours of the network’s Research and Development Center and its schools, providing insight into the network’s extensive pedagogical and educational activities as a basis for future education-related partnerships.
