The USA Delegation of the Friends of ORT Association met with the President Isaac Herzog in the President’s House.

A delegation from the Friends of ORT Israel Association in the USA, led by Ms. Edith Ebert, the organization’s president, and Mr. Mark Lebenfus, the organization’s chairman, visited Israel during May.

The purpose of the visit was to keep up to date with the latest developments in the schools and colleges of the ORT Israel network and examining the processes of transformation of the Israeli education system.

The delegation opened the visit at the President’s House in Jerusalem, where they have met with the President of the State, Isaac (Boji) Herzog and his wife Michal. A meeting was accompanied by the CEO of the ORT, Zvi Peleg, Chairman of ORT – Mickey Barr; and also the Chairman of the general assembly – attorney Lori Almoli – Confino.

During the visit to Israel, the delegation had a tour in a number of ORT’s schools and colleges, and learned about educational activities that represent the development and transformation of the education in pedagogical, technological and social aspects.

The delegation also visited ORT’s R&D and Training Administration and met with senior management team members of the ORT network, who shared their professional reviews on the education transformation into the future-ready stage. The members of the delegation were exposed to the different angles of the strategic challenges of the education system in Israel, such as: the next step in science and technology education; the challenge of encouraging entrepreneurship among students; strengthening involvement in the community and turning the school into a generator and leader of change.
