This initiative is a collaborative effort between the ORT network and the Northern District of the Ministry of Education, as well as the municipalities of Beit Shean, Maalot-Tarshiha, Migdal Haemek, and Hatzor Haglilit. These entities jointly oversee municipal education and implement this program in both elementary and post-elementary ORT schools. The primary goal of this initiative is to establish a comprehensive educational, pedagogical, and organizational framework, supplemented by rigorous monitoring and assessment. This framework is designed to ensure the mental well-being, optimal functioning, and enhanced achievement of the educational objectives and goals set forth by these towns.
The proposed model takes a holistic approach, addressing the needs of the whole individual, encompassing their physical, mental, and spiritual dimensions. It recognizes that these aspects are influenced by various environmental factors, both social and inherited.
In addition to focusing on educational and pedagogical aspects, such as scholastic achievements, dropout rates, motivation, and the ability to pursue further education, this model also places a strong emphasis on promoting optimal mental well-being. This well-being is closely tied to values such as health, optimism, personal satisfaction, hope, and happiness.
The individualized process involves evaluating the condition of each student within the system across a range of dimensions conducive to achieving an optimal state. These dimensions include identifying students’ strengths and talents, assessing family dynamics, leisure activities, sleep patterns, nutritional habits, physical activity levels, social circumstances, and participation in volunteer activities, among others. It is essential to understand that a student experiencing a state of ‘mental well-being’ is more likely to excel academically.
