Bridging Education and Innovation: ORT Israel Hosts Latin American Ambassadors at ORT Rehovot

Yesterday, ORT Israel had the privilege of hosting an exclusive event for Latin American ambassadors in collaboration with the Israel-Latin America Chamber of Commerce. The distinguished guests were welcomed at ORT Rehovot, a school renowned for its innovation and excellence in education. Welcoming greetings and words of appreciation to the ambassadors and the ORT Rehovot team were delivered at the opening by Miri Berger, Executive Director of the Israel-Latin America Chamber of Commerce. As an active participant in ORT’s Future Ready program, ORT Rehovot exemplifies forward-thinking pedagogy and cutting-edge educational initiatives.

The ambassadors were greeted by Avi Saar, Principal of ORT Rehovot, who provided an insightful overview of the school’s activities and its commitment to preparing students for the challenges of tomorrow. The event also featured a keynote presentation by Dr. Sharon Greenberg, ORT Israel’s Deputy Director General & Head of Administration for R&D, titled: ‘Technology Meets Values: Preparing Students for a Meaningful Future’

Dr. Greenberg’s presentation explored the critical intersection of technological education and ethical values, emphasizing how ORT equips students with the necessary skills and mindset to thrive in an ever-evolving world. He reflected on the students’ ability to present their projects in fluent English to international diplomats, remarking: “When our students presented fluently in English before the ambassadors, they were not just sharing knowledge they acquired in school—they were confidently demonstrating the promising future we are nurturing.

Following the discussions, the ambassadors embarked on an immersive tour of the school’s state-of-the-art facilities. Highlights included:

  • A Virtual Reality Lab, where cutting-edge technology enhances interactive learning.
  • DynamiClass, an advanced interactive learning space that fosters engagement through technology-driven education and gamification.
  • A Planetarium, offering a captivating exploration of space and astronomy.
  • The School’s Rooftop Observatory, where guests had the unique opportunity to observe the sun through advanced microscopes.
  • The visitors were also exposed to robotics teams, digital certifications, and network-based learning.

The ambassadors were deeply impressed by the dynamic and future-oriented learning environment at ORT Rehovot. Ezra Cohen, Ambassador of Panama to Israel, expressed his admiration: “I had the honor of visiting the ORT school in Rehovot alongside members of the diplomatic corps, and I was deeply impressed by the high level of education and innovation that defines this institution. Witnessing firsthand the academic progress of the young students and the quality of the subjects taught reaffirms the transformative impact of technological education.
