Reforming the Scientific and Technological Studies of the whole Azeri Education System

The collaboration between Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Education and the ORT Israel network commenced in 2019. It entailed a series of seminars attended by numerous teachers and principals, encompassing comprehensive five-week training sessions. These seminars focused on equipping educators with innovative teaching skills in the STEM fields. They delved into various topics, including an in-depth exploration of the Project-Based Learning (PBL) process, robotics studies, the utilization of three-dimensional printers, the integration of innovative content in science and technology, and the effective use of computer-based devices, among others.

Consequently, teachers and principals visited ORT network schools to gain firsthand experience in applying the teaching techniques they had acquired and to observe the innovative learning spaces that had been developed in these institutions over recent years. The impact of these training programs on the Azerbaijani education system was evident, as the dozens of teachers imparted the knowledge they had acquired from ORT to hundreds of their peers during seminars held in Baku.

Following the resounding success of these seminars, the Ministry of Science and Education of Azerbaijan commissioned a comprehensive roadmap from ORT to spearhead nationwide transformation. According to this program, 100 Azerbaijani schools are slated for transformation according to the ORT model by 2026.

Furthermore, ORT provided teacher training and curriculum resources on various topics, including:

  • Entrepreneurship
  • English Language Proficiency
  • Financial Education
  • Time Management
  • Neuroscience
  • Bio-Engineering
  • Urban Agri-Tech
